Russia’s State Duma to consider Pechora LNG’s exports in autumn
MOSCOW, Jun 22 (PRIME) -- The State Duma, the parliament’s lower chamber, will consider amendments to the law on gas exports to allow the Pechora LNG project to export liquefied natural gas (LNG) during the autumn session, lawmaker Valery Yazev, the author of the bill, told PRIME on Wednesday.
“We have postponed it to autumn,” the official said.
The session will start in October after parliamentary elections in September.
Russian oil major Rosneft owns 50.1% in Pechora LNG, a project located in the Nenets Autonomous District. In December 2015, Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service approved a request of RN-Pechora LNG, a unit of Rosneft, to buy 100% in Pechora LNG.
Previously, Rosneft and Alltech Group established Pechora LNG for development of the Korovinskoye and Kumzhinskoye gas fields and production of liquefied natural gas. Under the deal, Alltech was to contribute companies that own licenses for the fields, while Rosneft was to receive a majority stake in Pechora LNG.
